Reference activity
This is an open public reading library having about 55,000 volumes that cover all kinds of genres. There are a number of important volumes of historic – artistic interest, such as the ones dedicated to “Enrico Cecchetti”, “Adalberto Libera” and “Annibal Caro”. The “Teresa Lodi”, “Ricci” and “Conti” stock is also quite esteemed. There are also around 600 DVDs, audio books and music CDs.
There are 130 work stations and three internet stations dedicated to users. The Library is part of the National Project called “Nati per leggere”, which promotes reading for kids, organizes guided tours for schools, languages courses, comic strip and Italian courses for foreigners and book presentations.
Since March 2015, the library also has a baby pit-stop, to support and host nursing mums.
The young people’s section of the “S. Zavatti” library is without a doubt noteworthy, with a stock of 5,027 volumes.
