The Library of the Fine Art Academy in Macerata possesses library and documental material (papers and multimedia) necessary for teaching activity, for study and for research in the artistic sector, it has more than 5,000 titles.
It includes encyclopaedias, repertories, book collections, monographs, catalogues, essays, theoretical, historical and technical texts, periodicals, about Visual Arts and related disciplinary contexts: architecture, applied arts, furnishing, design, photography, graphics, cinema, renovation, theatre, spectacle, music, fashion, new technologies.
The material, which is positioned on closed shelves, is registered in a paper inventory in order of Authors. Among the most precious books in the library is the anastatic copy of the 18 volumes of the ’Encyclopédie’ by Diderot et d’Alambert (1751-1772), printed by Franco Maria Ricci in 3,000 specimens between 1974 and 1979; a large section is dedicated to the artistic history and culture of the Marche; a historical archive of periodicals with complete years from 1973-74; a historical archive of Diploma Theses ; the double library consists of historic collections of art from the Scala Institute of Florence.
